Andrew and I are what some may call “Old Souls”. We’re kinda boring, let’s be honest. The only reason we’re ever up past 11P.M is for work. On a night off, we don’t know what to do with ourselves. We’re homey, we’re comfy. These are all great things, and I’m glad we’re boring. I really am. But sometimes life seems like it might be escaping us. Sitting on the couch watching HGTV or the Food Network, doesn’t really create new memories or experiences with each other. There is a time and place when we don’t need to be learning about each other and interacting a ton, but on a night off? We should take advantage of it. With that, I’ve seen this project on Pinterest in a few variations.
There is this one, known as a Bored Jar.
I’ve also seen workout ones. And the one I chose to do, which is a dating one. I want to date my husband. I want to laugh with him and interact with him. After all, he’s my favorite person. We’re very different, but I think we can use that to our advantage. So, on one of those sit on the couch and not really bond nights, I spent my time making a list of fun things we could do together.
Supplies:
- Popsicle sticks
- Various paint colors
- Foam Paintbrushes
- Paint Pen, Fine tip worked nicely! A Sharpie might too.
- A wide mouth Mason jar
- Ideas!
And the finished project! I had these cute little sticks in my miscellaneous craft drawer, I thought it was a nice touch.
I’m excited about this, not only because I think it’s adorable and I’m super cheesy. But because of all the fun things ideas and memories we could make as a result of it. I hope it inspires you to want to date your spouse as well.
Find it,
Rachel
What a fun idea…this also helps with all those nights of “I don’t care, what do you want to do?” “It doesn’t matter to me, what do you want to do?” 🙂 ~J
So true! This is a problem solver! Lol
